| Helio Castroneves has forced championship leader Scott Dixon into a final round duel. Despite a strong run that saw Castroneves finish second at the Detroit Indy Grand Prix, Roger Penske’s driver was speechless when he climbed out of his car. About twenty minutes before he removed his helmet, Castroneves was en route to winning his second race of the year, severely cutting into Dixon’s lead with only one points-paying round left in the series. | After a near win in Kentucky Team Penske’s biggest hurdle was strategizing how to catch Scott Dixon in the points battle with only three events left on the calendar. A few days before the Grand Prix of Sonoma County was underway, Team Penske temporarily put the points race on hold after one of its transporters, carrying the team’s primary cars, was destroyed in a fire caused by a wheel bearing. | When the dust settled at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Team Penske’s Ryan Briscoe emerged with his second career win, and second victory of the season while teammate Helio Castroneves finished second and gained on points leader Scott Dixon. Team owner Roger Penske, who typically has a knack for spotting talent, boldly proclaimed that Briscoe “validated himself” and had arrived as “one of the top drivers.” More |

| One week ago Scott Dixon tested his luck by spinning himself out of contention in the closing stages of the Camping World Grand Prix at Watkins Glen. Despite the spin, Dixon made up with Lady Luck and returned to victory lane in Nashville for a very wet Firestone Indy 200. After collecting his fourth win this season Dixon pointed out that “a lot of the times you definitely have a strong car and you have a little bit of luck go your way.” More |

| Despite being ransacked by Mother Nature, Iowans had plenty to smile about when Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s Dan Wheldon took the checkered flags at the Iowa Corn Indy 250. The packed track saw Wheldon end a string of bad luck and take his first win of 2008. His victory on Sunday was particularly important because of a pre-race vow to donate his winnings to disaster relief organizations. More |
